The porteño legislator Gabriel Solano harshly criticized the mayor of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, in a recent interview. Solano expressed that the current government is manipulating electoral laws to their advantage, seeking to create a tailored electoral system and promoting the suspension of the Primaries, Open, Simultaneous, and Mandatory Elections (PASO).
Solano also pointed out that Jorge Macri seeks some kind of approval from President Javier Milei, but he is not interested, focusing only on winning the City of Buenos Aires. The legislator criticized decisions such as the closure of courses in night schools due to lack of budget and condemned the appointment of the new Security Minister, Horacio Giménez, as well as the former official Waldo Wolff.
On the other hand, Gabriel Solano questioned the national government's social policies, labeling the Human Capital Minister, Sandra Pettovello, as "indecent for the country and the people". He emphasized that the minister has decided to empty popular kitchens in a country with a high rate of child poverty, considering her management very deficient.
The legislator from the Left Front also warned about the increase in the prison population in the police stations of the City of Buenos Aires, describing them as improvised jails. Solano expressed concern about the constant escalation of punitive measures in response to security problems, urging a deeper debate on the underlying approach of these policies.
